Infusing Food into Art with Nutriville

[Media Invite]

What do / did you want to do before you turn 30? To complete tertiary education? To get married and have children? To have your own house and a car?

Any of you have ever thought of doing something to create social impacts?

The founder of Nutriville, Valentino Tan, in his 20s, started a social enterprise with the aim to help seniors to age better and happier through empowering and equipping them with beneficial life skills. Nutriville's strategy is to engage the community, especially the young ones, to promote intergenerational learning.

We attended an introductory session of their GoldHealthy Food Art Programme yesterday.

While the mummies were attending the introduction by the founder, the children were having fun painting. What is so special about that? They used coffee to paint. Yes, you read it right, coffee that you drink! Isn't it interesting to create different shades of brown colour with the same pot of coffee?

Next, the children were introduced  to the concept of food printing to make tote bag. Pei Pei and Hao Hao did their "shopping" for the vegetable.

Can you tell what her design is?

To Pei Pei, all things should have a smiley face, so does the crab!

Why is there a distinctive big purple heart the top of the design? Thanks to Hao Hao who added a spark of creativity there!

Thanks to the trainer Mdm Florence to entertain Pei Pei and Hao Hao, so that I had some time to design my tote bag.
