Pompompurin Cafe Singapore Review

Updated in August 2017: Pompompurin Cafe Singapore is permanently closed.

As a great fan of Sanrio characters, how I wished there would be a themed cafe for Sanrio characters in Singapore! When I heard about the opening of Pompompurin Cafe at Orchard Central, I wanted to visit this place!

Oh, if you are not sure who Pompompurin is, he is a golden retriever who loves milk, anything soft, and his mama's cream caramel puddings.

We were overwhelmed by the cuteness when we stepped into the cafe! This is the busiest spot of the cafe, where every one would take I-was-here-photos with Pompompurin and his friends!

We wanted to sit inside one of these cute "houses" or the sofa seats, but were told that there was a waiting list (when there is no one queuing outside).

Anyway, we were too hungry to wait any longer, so we settled down under the parasol.

The decorations really met my expectation for a themed cafe, from the menu, the seats, the soft toys and even the lamps, everything is so adorable!

We ordered the high tea set (consists of two drinks), which is available on Monday to Friday, 2 to 5 p.m. I think we were the only ones who ordered the high tea set at that time, the moment when it was served, it attracted the eyes of other patrons, who requested to take photos of our high tea set!

The top layer consists of sweet potatoes fries, 2 sandwiches, and caramel decoration with whipped cream.

The middle layer consists of a banana cupcake, a chocolate cupcake, 2 mini blueberries muffins, a milk-flavour cake with jelly inside and 2 marshmallows.

The bottom layer consists of 2 scones, a few tiny pieces of fruits, blueberry jam and maple syrup.

And we got to bring home 2 saucers and coasters, with the super cute plastic bag and receipt!

Oh well, this high tea set cost us $58.85 (including service charge and GST). Yes, you heard it right. We paid for the ambience and the presentation of food. I thought we should have ordered the main dishes instead, as they look more value for money.

This reminds me of our visit to Rilakkuma Cafe in Taipei, where the highlight was to be surrounded by all the cuteness! But at least I didn't have to take one hour to make online reservation or to queue up to have a meal at Pompompurin Cafe in Singapore.
