Playeum Children's Centre for Creativity - Making it Home

[Media Invite]

Focusing on dreaming rooms, making spaces and creating spaces, the current theme of the hands-on exhibition at Playeum Children's Centre for Creativity - Making it Home - is something that is close to our hearts. Ordinary objects that can be found in our house, for example, pipes, textiles, and even drain covers, can be transformed into materials that spark the children's creativity.

Hao Hao spent a great time building his dream house using the PVC drain pipes at The Central Space. Creating the 3D structure requires the creativity to find the suitable ways to connect different types of pipes, and this also requires resilience - Hao Hao had to re-build the structure again when it fell apart.

The children's favourite place is at The Kitchen, where they cooked up ideas with kitchen instrument and sand.

As in the past hands-on exhibitions like Hideaways and A World Full of Stories, Pei Pei loves the area at the back of Playeum - The Playmaking Space - where she can use different upcycling materials to create anything that she likes.

This time, the children found an interesting pulley installation above The Playmaking Space - they jumped to reach for the tins, and realised that while one tin was pulled upwards, the other tin went downwards. There were also small pulleys for the children to do experiment with.

When the creativity juice needed to be recharged, the children took a break at The Bedroom.

At The Future Living Room, we found this interesting installation. Not just because this tested our memory, the opening and closing of the drain covers was fun for the children! The magnets on the board provided an opportunity for the children to create their own games.

Using the textiles at The Laundry Room, the children weaved the creation of their own.

The Storey Room makes the concept of store room exciting and interesting. Look at the coloured shadow cast on the wall!

Don't forget to go outdoor to visit Growing Space and water the plants!
