IKEA Make a Friend - Making Cardboard Robot

[Media Invite]

Recently we have a craze of making cardboard toys. After we made a cardboard car and 5 games using toilet paper rolls and paper plates, today we made a robot at IKEA Make a Friend Preview Party.

Yay, we had all materials we needed. Let's start!

Pei Pei is very keen in exploring the usage of glue, while Hao Hao is good in cutting paper, so they were in-charge of the tasks accordingly to their interest, and worked together as a team. DaDi who seldom joined us in making craft works also helped us in assembling the robot!

Finally, our masterpiece was created!

Each family took turn to introduce the robot to the rest.

Me: Is the robot a boy or a girl?
Pei Pei: A boy.
Me: What is his name?
Pei Pei: ROBOT!

Ok, the name of our robot is... Robot!

It was indeed a great family bonding activity, and we enjoyed ourselves very much!

Are you interested to make a robot with your children and have fun together? Sign up for the IKEA Make a Friend!

It is a competition in which each parent-child pair will be provided cardboard boxes to make a robot within 45 minutes.  Then each robot model will be photographed and shortlisted by a panel of judges before a final round of voting. The winner will receive S$500 worth of IKEA children's furniture and gift card. In addition, the winning robot will be turned into life-size robot to be displayed at IKEA Tampines and IKEA Alexandra (like the one in the first photo)!

Who can take part:
The competition is only opened to IKEA FAMILY or smales members, so visit their stores to register as a member before signing up for the competition.
