Fire Station Open House

"Fire engine!" That was the first vehicle that came to Pei Pei and Hao Hao's mind when we were making a cardboard vehicle. However, we didn't have red paint, so we made a car instead.

Since they have been very interested in fire engines, we brought them to the fire station to see the real one last Saturday.

Do you know that all Singapore Civil Defence Force's fire stations (except Jurong Island Fire Station) offer open house on every Saturday from 9am to 11am?

It is not a see-see-look-look-but-no-touch open house. The visitors get to experience what the firefighters do!

Pei Pei and Hao Hao know that the role of firefighter is to fight fire (that is obvious, I know), they had fun fighting the imaginary fire with water hose!

If you are not afraid of height, you can get up the ladder of the fire engine! Unfortunately, we were not gamed enough about this as we are afraid of height.

While we were touring around the fire station, we heard an alarm. The gate in front of the ambulance was opened, the rescue team requested the visitors on the ambulance to get off, and they drove off in split second. Shortly after that, another alarm rang, a team of firefighters rushed off on the Red Rhino with the speed of light.

No, that was not a performance for the open house. That was a real emergency!

Interested to visit the fire station this Saturday? Read here to find out more!
