The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds + Art Activity

Her teacher smiled. "Just make a mark and see where it takes you."

This led to a journey of self-discovery of a child from someone who did not believe that she could draw, to someone who inspired the others.

The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds, reminded me how my words and behaviour can either inspire my children, or dampen their confidence.

We borrowed the Chinese version from the library, as the English version was on loan.

After reading the book together, we were inspired to make our own mark.

Watercolour or food colour
Cotton buds (Q tips)

Using cotton buds, the children created drawings using dots.

What happens when a blue dot overlap with a yellow dot? The children did an experiment.
